Lemons are very versatile in a wide variety of dishes. Add lemon juice to Luke warm water and drink a glass of lemon water every day. This ensures that you get a good amount of Vitamin C to your body.

Add lemon juice to curries by squeezing them on to the curries before eating.

The peel of the lemon actually contains a much larger amount of important vitamins than the juice; so find ways to incorporate the peel into your daily diet as well.

Freeze a whole lemon or peel of lemon in freezer, grate as you needed on salads, soups, pasta etc. You can add it to sizzlers, to smoothies and other drinks.

  • Reduces Uric acid levels:-To reduce uric acid levels stop drinking tea and start taking juice of 1 or 2 lemons in a glass cool water, in the morning on empty stomach. This will immediately act on the kidneys which will flush out the excess uric acid.
  • In Gout: – High uric acid levels incidentally leads to Gout. So lemon also helps treating gout by reducing the uric acid levels. It helps reducing pain and inflammation in joints and knees as it dissolves uric acid.
  • In Headache: – Hot Black tea with a juice of 1 lemon relieves headache immediately. Cut a lemon into 2 halves and warm these halves on fire and give fomentation on the forehead with these warm lemon halves. It also relieves headache instantly.
  • Obesity:  Mix half slice of lemon juice and a spoonful of honey to a glass of warm water, drink this early in the morning on empty stomach. It paves a way to lose weight quickly.
  • In Infections: – It helps prevent the growth and multiplication of pathogenic bacteria that cause infections like common cold, allergies and fevers like typhoid, malaria, viral fever. It helps in the reduction of phlegm produced by the body.

  • In Pyorrhea: – In a glass of water add juice of 2 or 3 lemons. Brush the teeth with this water 3 to 4 times a day. This gives relief from pyorrhea; it helps soften the gums, prevents swollen gums and tightens loose teeth. Lemons with salt remove stains on teeth.
  •  For bleeding nose: – Take ground oats and make thick paste with lemon juice, apply this paste on the fore head a few times. It cools the body and stops nose bleed.
  • For Vomiting’s:- Take half slice of lemon warm it and sprinkle small amount of pepper on it, slowly lick the lemon slice. It helps in treating morning sickness and vomiting’s.
  • In Throat Infections: – In Tonsils mouth dryness is common. Lemon juice helps in increasing the production of saliva. Licking warm lemon slice with little honey on it can cure sore throat and all diseases of throat. This is why most of the lozenges use lemon as their main component.
  • For healthy Nails: – Add juice of 1 lemon in warm water and keep fingers dipped in this for 5 minutes. Then remove hands and immediately put hands in cold water. This helps soften nails and healthy growth of nails.
  • In Hiccups: – Take 1 tsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. spoon honey and add pinch of rock salt to it. Lick this few times a day to stop continuously occurring hiccups.
  • Cancer treatment:  Vitamin C found in lemon juice, is already a very well-known alternative cancer treatment. In addition to that, the peel of the lemon can help to eradicate toxins in the body. Studies have revealed that lemon extract can successfully destroy malignant cells in a wide range of cancers, including breast cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer. The studies also show that lemon extract therapy only affects malignant cells, leaving healthy cells unharmed.
